Student Learning Outcomes

The Communication Studies student will:

  1. Critically analyze the complexity of human communication addressing the ongoing transaction between and among parties.
  2. Create messages by identifying and evaluating the audience, purpose, and context.
  3. Examine the persuasive nature of human and mediated communication.
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in presenting oral communication skills for an audience.
  5. Implement written communication skills through written projects.
  6. Critically analyze messages through the use of listening skills.
  7. Explain the social, cultural, and ethical responsibilities of communicators.
