Course Description:

Following the ODE Update, the audience will hear from experts at the state, OCALI, and educational audiologists to refresh and enhance knowledge considerations when evaluating and serving students who are deaf and hard of hearing. Hearing loss is a low-incidence area which may present a challenge when a student is suspected or identified with a loss. School psychologists may be the first school team professional meeting with the family and team to determine which assessments and professional are needed to gain a comprehensive picture of the student to be served. This presentation will dive deeper into the landscape of deafness in Ohio, the roles of educational audiologists and teachers of the deaf in assessment, and resources and tools to add to your school psychologist toolbox.
