  • Began his business career with General Motors as an hourly employee at the Fisher Body Pittsburgh Plant in 1976. After working jobs in material handling, maintenance and production, he joined the salaried ranks in September 1977 as a financial analyst

  • Transferred to the Mansfield Stamping Plant in Ohio as a general supervisor of finance in 1982

  • Left the financial arena in 1987 and worked as a senior industrial engineer, reliability engineer, production superintendent, quality manager and shift superintendent

  • Joined General Motors' Worldwide Facilities Group in 2004 as a facility area manager, specializing in the management of large capital projects
