Dr. Crystal Kaiser
Dr. Crystal Kaiser, Associate Professor, joined the Ashland University faculty in 2009. Her expertise and interests are in training graduate and undergraduate students to provide best practice, evidence-based, developmental and family support to infants and young children with a wide range of disabilities and severity levels. Dr. Kaiser is a national Past President of the Council for Exceptional Children's Division for Early Childhood and has lectured in Scandinavia, Micronesia, India, Nova Scotia and Puerto Rico. She is the author and producer of Young & Special, an internationally-translated and distributed teacher training program for preschool inclusion including 30 documentary television programs. Her doctorate is from the University of Washington (Seattle) and she has completed postdoctoral work at Harvard University in a national certification program for hospital neonatal intensive care unit developmental support. Her current research is on the use of early disability awareness children's literature for ages four through eight.
