Center for Educational Development and Research


“…building bridges between theory and practice” (Boyer, 1990).


The Center for Educational Development and Research (CEDAR) supports the identification and implementation of research relating to education and seeks creative mechanisms to infuse this research for the benefit of students, faculty, the profession, and the community. 


CEDAR will support and enhance faculty, college, and university activities in five arenas with the goal of providing leadership and a facilitative support structure for faculty and students, to enhance and enable the acholarship of research.  The development of Special Interest Groups within the College and University will be encouraged.

Goals of the CEDAR

  • To support faculty research and provide opportunities to share such work.

  • To provide platforms for sharing ideas, and create opportunities for academic focused disusssion, thereby contributing to the intellectual climate of the campus and centers.
  • To facilitate undergraduate and graduate student research.
  • To encourage and support Special Interest Groups.

CEDAR supports the J-CEDAR and Faculty Colloquiums.
