What does "Accent on the Individual" mean to you?
"Accent on the Individual" means connecting with each student, personalizing content and learning and providing opportunities for each student to become successful.
Laura Kruger is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Health Sciences and Coordinator of Lifetime Wellness. Her background includes exercise and fitness, tobacco public policy, student health behaviors and program planning. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and has participated in national/state conferences and presentations in several different settings, and has developed publications of research. In the Lifetime Wellness course, she has implemented the opportunity for students to participate in a health screening to identify their lipid profile and glucose levels which has proven successful in student's health behaviors. Her classes are taught in the classroom, and in hybrid and online format.
She also is the Co-Advisor for the Living Learning Community for the Ashland University Dwight Schar College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and spearheads Employee Wellness Initiatives on campus including the Lunch & Learn series, weekly wellness tips and newsletters, and Employee Health Screenings.
