Clinical Field Experiences for Athletic Training

Athletic training students complete field experiences as part of the curriculum. Students are paired with a preceptor who is an athletic trainer or other healthcare professional. Field experiences give students the opportunity to gain valuable real-life experiences and develop professional skills.

How field experiences at Ashland University will help you

  • You will be able to spend time in the clinical field where you will practice what you learn in the classroom and lab
  • You will graduate college with 600 hours of experience with patients over the course of at least two years
  • You will develop a richer and more realistic understanding of the athletic training profession
