Founders School Announces Two New Employees
James Powell, PhD. is the new executive director of professional development. He is replacing Dr. Gene Linton, who will continue to work as the dean of the Founders School.
Jim comes to Ashland University from North Ridgeville Schools where he was superintendent of the school district. He has 35 years of experience as a teacher, principal and superintendent in K-12 public education. In addition, he has been an adjunct instructor for Ashland University's College of Education the past few years. Jim received his doctorate from University of Cincinnati in Education Administration.
Cheryle Dee Basinger, PhD. is the new professional development director for the Columbus Center. She is replacing Georgine Collette, who is moving to a part-time assistant director position at the Columbus Center.
Dee comes to us from Imagine Schools in Columbus where she was a technology teacher, data coach and MTSS coordinator. She has experience working in professional development at industry and various school districts in the Columbus area. She also has been an instructor for the Ashland University Professional Development program the past few years. Dee received her doctorate from Ohio University in Instructional Technologies
