This course is based on 4 course sessions through 12 contact hours taught in regional locations to groups of early childhood educators. This module is grounded in the belief that all children are born ready to learn and possess strengths, abilities and competencies. A comprehensive early childhood curriculum engages all children and enlists them as active partners in its creation. The Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is a tool to access curriculum for young children with disabilities and to support their full participation. This module requires a shift from the practice that has viewed the IEP as the curriculum for the young child with disabilities.
