Intro to Teaching ESL/EFL
Would you like to increase your effectiveness as an English Language teacher? During the next six weeks, we’ll rethink the traditional native vs. non-native speaker distinction, see why teaching English is so different from teaching other subjects, and explore innovative approaches like Communicative Language Teaching and the lexical approach. You’ll gain new insights and ideas for teaching vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, and writing. You’ll also discover what some of your options are in designing fair and accurate tests. And you’ll learn how to keep learning and growing throughout your teaching. Students who successfully complete this class will receive a TESOL Certificate of Completion.
Students MUST enroll through Jackson Township Community Education to participate in the class. Additional fee for the online class is $115. For more information including a schedule of class dates and to register directly online contact Jackson Local Schools at http://www.jtce.org/teachers.htm This class is offered every month through JTCE and has an ongoing registration for credit with Ashland University.
