Course Description:

Mathematics Module

This is a graduate level class. However, undergraduate credit is available upon request. There are no changes in content, price, or expectations.

In the mathematics module, we explore the teacher’s role in supporting young children’s early concepts of number and early addition and subtraction. We also examine the early childhood roots of patterning and algebraic reasoning, geometric reasoning through children’s play and how measurement and data analysis can be taught through developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant activity. Strong emphasis is placed on supporting diverse learners through intentional teaching and differentiated instruction.
