Dr. Dwight McElfresh
Dwight McElfresh is the Dean of the Founders School of Continuing Education at Ashland University. Prior to serving in this role, he served five years as the Executive Director of Professional Development Services for Ashland University.
Prior to joining Ashland University, Dr. McElfresh served 31 years in public education as interim superintendent of the Ashland City Schools, assistant superintendent, director of pupil personnel, director of curriculum, supervisor of special education, and teacher of learning disabled children in a variety of school settings in Ashland and Richland counties.
Dr. McElfresh is a trustee of North Central State College, a member of the Ashland Noon Lions, the Ashland City Schools Alumni Foundation Board, and serves as the Campaign Chair for the Ashland County United Way. He is a past member of Leadership Ashland Board of Directors, Ashland Symphony Board and the Ashland County Mental Health and Recovery Board.
Dr. McElfresh earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Ashland University, a Master of Science in Education degree from the University of Akron, and a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Ashland University.
Dwight and his wife Rita live in Ashland and have three adult daughters and two grandchildren.
