INTERVENTIONS STDNTS TRAUMA
Exposure to trauma has been shown to be a risk factor for many mental health problems, early drop out, and even criminality. It is critical that educators learn to recognize that behavior problems such as anger, classroom outbursts, withdrawal and more can be the result of exposure to abuse, neglect and domestic violence. This course will cover the essential elements of the “trauma-informed” or “trauma-sensitive” approach designed to provide educators with the science and skills they need to understand and manage traumatized children effectively and safely for both parties involved.
