Course Description:

Low performing, disengaged students challenge counselors, educators and administrators.  They also add additional challenges for the substitute teacher. We spend a great deal of time and energy looking for motivational and remedial strategies that will "fix" a student and make him/her better. What if a philosophical change could make a difference?  This workshop will address current educational changes with a continued focus on increasing student, as well as teacher expectations.  Instructional strategies will be modeled including small group and symposium discussions.  Appropriate speakers will be invited to share their expertise. For more information please direct your questions to Judith Hassel at
