DI DRIVEN BY ASSESSMENTS
Differentiation can’t be successful without a strategically developed and implemented an assessment system that includes pre-instruction assessment, continuing assessment, and culminating evaluation that frequently collaborates and incorporates students self-assessments to promote.
Assessments and differentiation of instruction are inseparable. The goals and priorities for this course are intended to provide opportunities for teachers to proficiently master the implementation of the foundations for using assessments effectively to differentiate instruction.
This course provides participants a structured means for addressing the diverse individual needs of students using effective assessment methods in setting differentiated instructional learning paths.
Connections between the standards and the Danielson’s Framework will be integrated throughout the course with real-life, hands-on application of how to use assessment tools and data effectively (i.e. pre-assessments, diagnostic, formative assessments), within the classroom to address diverse student needs and to design respectful tasks by product, process and/or by content.
Course content will be presented and delivered to teachers in a variety of ways that will result in the specific application of uses assessments effectively to plan for differentiation of instruction according to student interests, individual learning profiles and/or according to student readiness levels based upon assessment data.

You can register and begin the course at any time and have until the end of Ashland University’s academic year to complete it. Within 24-48 hours of your registration you will receive an email from your course content provider that contains your course access information. Plan to spend a minimum of two weeks in the course. Once you complete your course, your grade will be submitted to Ashland University for processing. This course is web-based so you can access it from any computer with internet access. It is also self-paced, so you can work entirely at your own pace, when it is convenient for you. There are no specific times you must be online and no individual deadline dates for assignments. They can be submitted any time, so long as everything has been submitted by the end of the academic term.
Within 24 hours of your registration you should be able to establish a login for your student account at Ashland University, WebAdvisor. You can use WebAdvisor to view your registrations, see when your grade is posted, and print detailed receipts and grade reports. The instructions also include a link to our Records and Registration's webpage where transcript ordering instructions can be found. It is advised that you review your record before ordering transcripts.
