Course Description:

The main objectives of this two-day seminar, "Working with Parents/Students Concerning Challenging Issues (K-12)", are understanding the nature of parents and different parenting styles, understanding challenging issues such as abuse, destructive behaviors, and mental health issues, strategies for working with parents/students concerning challenging issues, and resources for educators, students, and parents when dealing with challenging issues. 

It will also give teachers potential opportunities to help parents and students to improve academic areas and be able to deal with challenging issues. Working positively with parents can enhance academic, social,and emotional growth in students.
