As the United States industrialized in the late 1800s, waves of immigrants travelled to America in search of a better future.  The Winter TCI enables teachers to learn about this time period through the lens of Cleveland, Ohio.  Over the course of three evening classes, we will bring history to the local level and give teacher - and eventually thier students - a better understanding about the role of ethnic enclaves, neighborhood development, and the community and religious organizations that supported the immigrant populations,  We will also examine the challenges facing immigrant communities during this time period and the role of immigrations in Northeast Ohio today.
