History and Government College Credit For Teachers in Ohio
Ashland University is currently establishing cohorts for teachers interested in pursuing College Credit Plus approval to teach college level courses in their high school classroom. Currently offering tracks in Communication, Math and History and Government. Prospective students with an earned master’s degree may choose to pursue the 18 credit hours as a stand alone option. Students wishing to pursue a master’s degree in addition to the licensure should contact the office of graduate admissions to see what track is most appropriate for them. Possible degree paths include: Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction - Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century, a Master of Arts in Corporate and Strategic Communication, and a Master of Arts in Teaching American History and Government.
Ashland University's College Credit Plus for Teachers program is designed to allow you meet the minimum requirements for post-secondary education as defined by the Ohio Department of Education. Completion of this program does not guarantee that you will be granted permission to teach a course at any university. Each college or university sets their own criteria for the hiring of adjunct professors which may be above the minimum criteria required by the state.
