Our endorsement programs

Graduate Reading Endorsement: Learn the most effective research-based methods for teaching reading, and participate in 100 hours of direct practice while working with elementary-, middle- and secondary-level students. Prior to beginning your program, you must have completed 12 hours of literacy coursework (undergraduate or graduate), including an approved phonics course.

Early Childhood Generalist (Grades 4-5)Build on your Pre-K-3 licensure, and earn your license to teach fourth and fifth grades. This program will help you learn the most effective teaching methods and strategies for educating the middle childhood age group.

Middle Childhood Generalist (Grades 4-6)Earn the licensure needed to teach all four core academic areas in grades 4-6. 

Gifted Intervention Specialist (Grades K-12)Learn to develop, teach and supervise curricula and services for talented and gifted students in Ohio K-12 schools.

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages — TESOL (Grades K-12)Make a positive, lasting impact on the lives of immigrant and native-born children. Prepare for the increasing cultural and linguistic diversity in today’s classrooms by learning the most effective methods for teaching nonnative English speakers the English language.

Computer/Technology EndorsementLearn the skills, knowledge and dispositions needed to provide professional development, and teach your colleagues how to get the most out of new and existing classroom technologies.
