Our endorsement programs
Graduate Reading Endorsement Offered, cohorts only: Learn the most effective research-based methods for teaching reading, and participate in 100 hours of direct practice while working with elementary-, middle- and secondary-level students. Prior to beginning your program, you must have completed 12 hours of literacy coursework (undergraduate or graduate), including an approved phonics course.
Gifted Intervention Specialist (Grades K-12): Learn to develop, teach and supervise curricula and services for talented and gifted students in Ohio K-12 schools.
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages — TESOL (Grades K-12) Make a positive, lasting impact on the lives of immigrant and native-born children. Prepare for the increasing cultural and linguistic diversity in today’s classrooms by learning the most effective methods for teaching nonnative English speakers the English language.
Computer/Technology Endorsement: Learn the skills, knowledge and dispositions needed to provide professional development, and teach your colleagues how to get the most out of new and existing classroom technologies.
Post-Baccalaurate Early Childhood Generalist (Grades 4-5) Endorsement: The Early Childhood Generalist Endorsement is designed as an addition to an earned Early Childhood License, which would allow that candidate to also teach in grades 4 and 5. The program focuses on the unique developmental characteristics of the middle childhood student and teaching methods and strategies to best educate the young adolescent. The endorsement is available to graduate students who possess an Early Childhood License or Bachelor's Plus candidates who are seeking such a license.
