The ACCESS Program Structure

ACCESS has been redesigned to integrate with a planned Pathway Program. The Pathway Program will allow students who have achieved a 5.0 IELTS (UG) or a 5.5 IELTS (Graduate) to begin courses at Ashland, while concurrently strengthening their English skills in ACCESS.  In order to complement this new program, ACCESS has moved to a 16 week semester system. ACCESS students will take six "core" courses, for a total of eighteen hours, and an American Cultural Exploration Course for two additional hours. Students in the Pathway Program will take ACCESS Core courses according to the results of their IELTS tests.

ACCESS Levels:  Basic - Intermediate - Advanced

ACCESS Lecture Classes:  Listening - Speaking - Reading - Writing - Grammar - Vocabulary

ACCESS Lab:  American Cultural Exploration

An eight week term will be offered over the Summer break for students who wish to continue building English skills during the break.
