Campus Life

We encourage students to get involved and have some fun along the way. There’s no better way to connect with other students than to join a group centered around an area that you’re passionate about. We offer more than 115 clubs and organizations; and if there isn’t already a club geared toward your interest, you can be the one to start it!

We also host several all-campus events throughout the year. Some of our most popular events include dance parties, Banana Splittin’ Contest and Springfest.

Cheer and Dance

The varsity squad consists of sixteen female members that cheer at all football games and all home basketball games. The varsity squad also accompanies the teams to any NCAA tournament games. Each girl on the varsity squad is awarded a $500 scholarship.

This year the Eagle Elite Dance Team consists of 17 women.  This energetic and rythmic team entertains the crowds at all men's home basketball games  with a variety of jazz, hip hop and pom dances.  Since the construction of the new football stadium, the team as performed during halftime on several occasions. Honors and Scholars

Ashland University is home to two programs specifically designed to enrich the college experience for students of exceptional academic ability.

The Ashland University Honors Program offers academically talented undergraduate students cross-disciplinary experiences, participation in an intellectual community devoted to discussion and dialogue and special projects and courses that challenge the mind.

The Ashbrook Scholar Program was created to give exceptional students studying political science, history, pre-law, international relations or social studies education an immersion in the works of our greatest thinkers and statesmen along with access to well-known speakers who visit campus. Recent guests have included George Will, Colin Powell, George W. Bush and many others. Ashbrook Scholars receive a $2,000 scholarship that is renewable annually.

With several fine ensembles, dedicated faculty members who encourage and inspire excellence and renowned guest artists, the department offers numerous performances annually with many free and open to the public. Check out more information about our band and choir programs.
