Professional Instructor of Management


Joan Berry Kalamas, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, joined the Ashland University faculty in 2009 as a Professional Instructor of Business Management.  She teaches Human Resource Management, Compensation and Benefits, Training and Development, Organizational Behavior, and Introduction to Management at the undergraduate level and she teaches all of the Human Resources courses for AU's MBA specialization., joined the Ashland University faculty in 2009 as a Professional Instructor of Management. She teaches all courses in the MBA Human Resource (HR) Management specialization. Joan also teaches several undergraduate management courses and serves as faculty advisor to the HR student chapter. She has spent 25 years serving as a senior Human Resources professional in the childcare, long term care, telecommunications, educational and non-profit arenas. Joan received her Bachelor's degree from Ashland University in Education and her Master's degree from The Ohio State University in Professional Development and Adult Education. She is the founder and owner of her own HR consulting company and is the past Director for the Ohio SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) State Council.
