‘Art Saturdays’ to Return to Ashland University

9/3/13 ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery and Art Club are resuming “Art Saturdays,” an educational and creative experience for children 4 to 13 years old.

“Art Saturdays” will be offering classes on the following dates – Sept. 28 and Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to noon in Room 346, located in the Center for the Arts on the Ashland University campus; and Oct. 19 from 10 to 11 am.

Registration and fee is required prior to each Art Saturdays activity. Class sizes are limited. The class details include:

  • Sept. 28 – Clay for Young Artists with $10 art fee (10am-12 noon) – A class with Florida ceramic artist Matthew Schiemann (Ashland native). This session is for children ages 7-13.
  • Oct. 19 – Painting for Young Artists with $5 art fee (10-11am) -- Children will explore different painting styles based on famous artists from Abstract Expressionism and Post Impressionism. This session is for children ages 4-9.
  • Nov. 2 — “Art is Super” Super Heroes and Art with $5 art fee (10am-12 noon) -- Young artists will explore use of super heroes by contemporary artists and find themselves in a fun educational super hero experience. This session is for children ages 7-13.
