4/9/10 ASHLAND, Ohio --Wooster businessman Jack Miller has made a naming gift to Ashland University for the construction of the new Athletic Complex at the University and the new football stadium as part of the complex is named in his honor.

An alumnus of the University and a member of the Ashland University Board of Trustees, Miller made his gift as part of Ashland's "Bringing Spirit to Campus" Campaign that has resulted in the construction of the new Dwight Schar Athletic Complex, an incredible $23 million development featuring a 5,200-seat Jack Miller Stadium for football, a 500-seat soccer and track and field stadium and a state-of-the-art Bob Troop End Zone Facility consisting of offices, locker rooms, weight room and athletic training and entertainment areas.
The new complex, which is one of the premiere Division II facilities in the country, will be dedicated on April 23 as part of a weekend celebration on the Ashland University campus. The new complex is located on the northwest side of campus.

A 1974 Ashland alumnus, Miller said, "I was excited about the opportunity to support Ashland University, especially to be a part of this campaign to build one of the premiere Division II athletic facilities in the state."

Ashland University President Dr. Frederick Finks thanked Miller for his gift, saying, "Jack is a fine example of the 'spirit of Ashland University.' He is a graduate who believes in giving back to his alma mater and he supports the mission of this University."

Miller is CEO of Ken Miller Supply Inc., based in Wooster, a supplier of oilfield tubular products with oilfield supply stores in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kentucky. Miller is also CEO of Kenoil LLC and owner of Jackson Oil Company LLC, which drill for and produce oil and natural gas.

A 2005 recipient of the Ashland University Alumni Association's Special Achievement Award, Miller earned a bachelor of science in business administration degree with majors in marketing and finance.
