Q.What are the hours of operation for the Recreation Center?
A. During the school year, the Rec Center is open Monday-Thursday from 6:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m., Friday 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00-10:00 p.m.. During summer, the Rec Center is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-9:00p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 1:00-9:00 p.m. Pool hours may be different than the rest of the facility. Hours vary during breaks.
Q.What do I need to bring with me to the Rec Center?
A. To gain entrance into the Rec Center, you must bring your Ashland University Eagle Card (this serves as your membership card). All other equipment that you may use during your workout such as towels, basketballs, etc. can be signed out at Equipment Check-Out.
Q.Can I bring a non-member to the Rec Center with me?
A. Yes! All members may bring a maximum of three guests with them per visit at a cost of $5 per guest. During the school year, all full-time undergraduate students may bring two guests for free on Fridays after 3:00 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays.
Q.Who is eligible for membership?
A. Memberships are available to all full-time undergraduates, part-time students, ACCESS students, seminary students, graduate students, alumni, faculty, staff, members of the Board of Trustees, retired faculty and staff belonging to the Ashland University Heritage Club, adjunct professors and community members. Family memberships are available to the groups listed above.
Q.What is acceptable workout gear?
A. Acceptable clothing includes t-shirts and athletic shorts. Other items can be deemed inappropriate and users may be asked to change due to environmental safety concerns.
Q.Can I reserve the MAC or Basketball courts?
A. No, the MAC and basketball courts are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Q.How many laps does it take to run a mile on the upstairs track?
A. It takes a total of nine laps to run one mile.
Q.How do I join a sport club?
A. Contact the sport club president for the sport that you are interested in joining and they will guide you through the process and educate you about practice times. You can find the club president’s contact information at the Rec Center as well as on the Sports Club web page.
