The goal of Group X is to promote active living through physical fitness by offering a variety of fun, safe and appropriately challenging exercise classes for the Ashland University community. Group X also provides participants with the opportunity to meet new people, find motivation in working out with others and increase fitness levels with great workouts and enthusiastic instructors!
About the Program
Group X offers approximately 20 group exercise classes each semester with over 5,000 participants annually. Classes are free to all Ashland University Rec Center members and are located in our 30-person aerobics studio and other areas throughout the building. Certified group exercise instructors and other highly-trained staff serve as the instructors for the Group X classes. Incentive programs are held each semester so you can get rewarded for working out!
Group X classes are typically categorized in one of four different areas: cardiovascular, strength, mind/body, or a combination of these elements. Each class is placed into one of these four categories and color-coded accordingly on the Group X schedule.
The benefits of participating in Group X classes are endless! Regardless of your fitness level, gender, interest, or background, the Group X program has a class for everyone!
