Ashland University’s Homeschool and Classical Learning Center was designed to help homeschooled and classical learning students transition into higher education with ease. The center is for students in grades 7 through 12, and offers the following benefits:

Tutoring
We will pair your student with a college student who will offer tutoring in the HCLC building at a time convenient to both you and the tutor. Most high school subjects are offered for tutoring.

Jane Austen Book Club: "Emma"
Join us for a lively discussion of the themes of social class, romance and personal growth as depicted in Jane Austen’s “Emma.” Join us for one session or for all.
Book Club meets from 6–7:30 p.m. on the following dates:

- May 20: Watch and discuss the modern movie adaptation "Clueless."
Homeschooling 101
Saturday, May 11 at 10 a.m. or Tuesday, May 23 at 6 p.m.
In “Homeschooling 101” where we’ll embark on a comprehensive journey to navigate the world of homeschooling with confidence and clarity. In this two-hour workshop, you’ll learn to set both long-term and short-term homeschooling goals, prioritizing educational objectives and crafting a personalized curriculum map tailored to your child’s needs. We’ll explore the five basic types of homeschooling and guide you through selecting a curriculum that aligns seamlessly with your goals and preferences. Whether you’re a seasoned homeschooling parent or just starting your journey, this workshop will equip you with the tools and knowledge necessary to create a fulfifilling educational experience for your family.
End of Year Bash
As you wrap up your school year, come out for a morning of basketball, soccer, volleyball, pool and ping-pong.

Meet Theresa Watson
Theresa is the coordinator of the brand new Homeschool and Classical Learning Center at Ashland University. She is a local experienced homeschool mom with a 17-year track record, guiding her five daughters through the educational journey. Having successfully graduated four of her girls, all of whom seamlessly transitioned to college, she brings a wealth of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of homeschooling dynamics.
With a unique blend of homeschooling expertise and a proven track record in community leadership, she remains dedicated to enhancing the homeschooling experience for her family and the local community. Her journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment to education and community enrichment.
