Accounting MBA Specialization Overview

Ashland University’s MBA with an Accounting Specialization is designed to provide students with a path to obtain their Certified Public Accounting license. Since completion of the degree, along with an undergraduate degree, allows a student an opportunity to earn 150 credit hours, students are equipped with the necessary minimum credit hours to sit for the CPA exam as is required by many states. In addition, it provides students with multiple career opportunities in accounting.

Curriculum

While the curriculum prepares students for careers as CPAs, students can also choose to pursue the coursework that will prepare them for careers as Certified Management Accountants (CMAs), Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs), and Certified Internal Auditors (CIAs). The program builds on a student’s undergraduate accounting experience and coursework by using graduate accounting courses to develop broader and deeper technical accounting knowledge. It also enhances communication and problem-solving skills necessary for success in professional accountancy and business by incorporating case studies and simulations into coursework.

The graduation requirement for the Ashland University MBA program is 30 credits, which includes 18 credits of core courses.
