Archer Library provides access to academic resources for students and faculty across Ashland University, including 200+ databases and over 650,000 eBooks and print volumes supporting all levels of coursework. The library features the Instructional Resource Center, Bernice Faber Baker Active Learning Lab, XR Conference Room and Wellness Space and a Special Books Collection, each contributing to the student learning experience.
Archer Library is a member of the OhioLINK academic library consortium which provides our users with access to millions of print and digital collections. We are a member of OPAL, which represents private Ohio academic libraries with support from OhioNet. These consortia build strong library communities.
Archer Library is home to vital student support and academic success departments, including the Writing and Communications Center, Center for Academic Support and Tutoring and Career Center for Life Calling. The Leo and Laura Thomas Numismatic Center is also located in the building. The main floor serves as a central hub, featuring the library’s information and service desk, Lyceum Café and student IT help desk.

Archer Library's summer hours begin on Monday, May 11.
Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: Closed.

Library Mission & Vision
Mission
We support teaching, learning and research for Ashland University students, faculty and staff by providing access to information and knowledge resources and services.
Vision
We strive to provide print and digital collections, innovative library instruction services and physical spaces so that our diverse communities can pursue scholarly inquiry and access research and collaborative learning opportunities.
Reserves
Archer Library has traditional course reserves (books, DVDs, or music CDs) available for faculty use. These items are located at the library circulation desk, main floor. Instructors placing items on reserve determine length of the reserve period, hours or days, and whether the item may leave the library.

Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan is a free service available to students, faculty, and staff. It can be used to request:
- articles not available through Library databases or print periodicals collection;
- books unavailable through OhioLINK or SearchOhio;
- a copy of a single chapter from a book;
- copies of a dissertation literature review.
Use the Article Request Form for a chapter request or to specify pages.
Note: Textbooks are not available through Interlibrary Loan.
