The Lyceum Café, with its modern look and wide-open space, is located on the first floor of the Archer Library and is available to AU students, faculty and staff as well as the Ashland community.

Summer 2026 Hours
The Lyceum Café will be open 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on May 8. It will be closed for the summer starting on May 9 and will reopen for fall semester at the beginning of August.

The Menu
The café menu offers various multigrain toast, flatbreads, sandwiches, salads, baked goods and hand-crafted coffees and teas.
All forms of payment are accepted, including meal equivalency.

Parking
When visiting the Lyceum Café, parking has been added along College Avenue. The closest parking lot is Parking Lot I, located off College Avenue and just across the street from the Lyceum Café. Additional parking can be located by viewing the Campus Map.

Interesting Facts about the Lyceum Café
- Made possible by $1.6 million of the Schar Campus Beautification gift.
- Construction started in April of 2023 and the Cafe opened on October 21, 2023.
- The café is 2075 square feet and has seating capacity for 63.
- It contains almost 1500 square feet of glassed atrium surface and has locally sourced Amish wood and Quartz topped/cast iron based furniture.
- The interior aesthetic is meant to have the look and feel of an "East Coast Café".
- With the café function and interior design, the addition is meant to enhance and update the Library's exterior appearance and curb appeal.
