Two mental health-related art exhibitions to be featured at AU’s Coburn Gallery Oct. 10-Nov. 3
ASHLAND, Ohio – The Coburn Gallery at Ashland University, located in the Center for the Arts, will be hosting two exhibitions, “Seeds of Hope” and “Creative Expanses,” that share a central theme of reflecting on mental health and the healing aspects of the artistic process. ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University will host a Dedicatory Piano Recital on Sunday, Sept. 15, to recognize the recent restoration of its 1918 Steinway piano. The event, featuring four accomplished pianists, will take place at Elizabeth Pastor Recital Hall (room 115) inside the Center for the Arts, starting at 4 p.m. It is free and open to the public. ASHLAND, Ohio – The opening exhibition of the 2024-25 academic year at Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery will be “CLIMATE,” a regional juried exhibition featuring 25 Ohio-based artists. Brotherhood formed in college continues for JDM grads as camera operators covering Ohio sports
After working together as camera operators for Ashland University games and now the past several years at Ohio sporting events, Trae Coopwood, Erich Metze and Zach Portner have formed a brotherly bond. “I’m like the annoying older brother they can’t get rid of,” said a laughing Metze, who is in his 40s while Coopwood and Portner are in their 20s. Ashland Area Chorus’ 2024-25 season will start on Aug. 26
ASHLAND, Ohio – The Ashland Area Chorus, a community-based mixed choir of 40-50 singers, will begin its 2024-25 season Monday, Aug. 26. The AAC is still welcoming new members. ASHLAND, Ohio – Two state winners of The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History’s 2024 History Teacher of the Year award—Katie Orenberg of California and Erik Iverson of South Dakota—are graduates of Ashland University’s Master of American History and Government (MAHG) program.
