Faculty Advisor: Dan Sullivan
The AU Marketing Club allows students to work with real-world clients, develop presentation and writing skills, and gain leadership experience. As a member of the marketing club, students will have the opportunity to network with marketing professionals in various industries. Initiatives of the marketing club includes; enhancing school spirit, networking with area businesses, networking with marketing departments for professional sports teams, and creating fundraiser events.

Faculty Advisor: Ken Brubaker
The FAO offers hands on experience for those interested in the fashion industry (all majors welcomed) through events and trips to cities all over the country. FAO has monthly meetings to discuss fashion events on campus, along with monthly speakers who work in the fashion industry. FAO plans trips to museums, businesses, and major fashion cities to explore and educate the members involved of current trends and information.

Faculty Advisor: Alison Rossi
The AU HR Student Chapter is affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest HR professional society, with 285,000 members in more than 165 countries. As a member of the student chapter, you can learn more about the field of human resources and gain the knowledge, skills and competencies you’ll need to be a successful HR professional.
You’ll attend regular meetings to discuss workforce readiness issues, legislative updates, diversity initiatives and HR research. HR professionals will occasionally attend meetings to share current issues and trends in the field and explain the significant impact that HR can have on organizations.
In addition to attending student chapter meetings, you’ll also:
- Take company tours
- Perform community service work
- Attend local SHRM-affiliated chapter meetings to learn from and network with HR professionals
- Meet with HR professionals in the fields of compensation, benefits, talent management, labor relations, organizational development and career and succession planning
- Compete in SHRM Case Competitions at the regional level (against other student chapter members from other states) and in the Ohio HR Games (against other Ohio student chapter members)
- Take a SHRM assessment to validate that you’ve acquired the appropriate knowledge to be a successful HR professional. This competency assessment could give you an advantage over other job seekers.

The mission of the SHRM Foundation is to advance global human capital knowledge and practice by providing thought leadership and educational support and sponsoring funding and driving the adoption of cutting-edge actionable, evidence-based research.
SHRM Professional Membership
Graduating SHRM student members may upgrade to a professional membership at a special discounted rate. This will extend the student’s membership for 12 months and grant immediate access to all of the professional member benefits provided by SHRM.
SHRM also offers two kinds of certification: Certified Professional and Senior Certified Professional. These two certifications test an individual’s human resources knowledge as well as measuring their demonstration and application of HR competencies. Obtaining one of these certifications demonstrates a professional’s mastery in the field of human resources.
The AU IMA Student Chapter is affiliated with the Institute of Management Accountants, a global organization that consists of over 140,000 members in 150 countries. The AU IMA Student Chapter provides its members the opportunity to learn about careers in the accounting industry, the multiple professional accounting-related certifications as well as understand the necessity for accounting professionals to maintain a high level of professional ethics.
The chapter partners with the Ohio Society of CPAs to co-sponsor events such as visiting local high schools to educate students on careers in accounting.

SBC originated at Ashland University and aims to showcase the sport industry and provide pathways for students into the field.
