AU receives four “Best Online Programs” rankings from U.S. News

ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University’s online offerings were awarded distinction in the latest U.S. News & World Report’s college rankings, as four of its programs were tabbed “Best Online Programs” by the highly respected multifaceted media company. Its 2026 rankings were announced on Tuesday.

U.S. News, in its 14th year collecting and analyzing data specific to online learning, evaluated more than 1,800 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The rankings were calculated using factors such as student engagement, faculty credentials and services and technologies.

“We are excited that several of Ashland’s online programs have achieved national recognition from U.S. News again,” said Dr. Jon Parrish Peede, president of AU. “These rankings are a reflection of Ashland’s focus on meeting learners at every stage of life and our ability to deliver education programs that are both flexible and of the highest quality.”

Ashland stood out in comparison to its peers across Ohio and was recognized in the following categories:

  • Best Online Bachelor’s Programs – No. 7 in Ohio, top 40% of those nationally ranked (135 of 348)
  • Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Programs – No. 8 in Ohio, one of 254 nationally ranked
  • Best Online MBA Programs – No. 12 in Ohio, top 50% of those nationally ranked (169 of 364)
  • Best Online Master’s in Education Programs – No. 11 in Ohio, top 50% of those nationally ranked (153 of 323)
