Honors Program hosting “What It Means to Be an Educated Person” on Sept. 17
ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University's Honors Program is hosting "What It Means to Be an Educated Person," on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m., in the Alumni Room on the upper level of the John C. Myers Convocation Center. It is free and open to the public.
The event will feature AU President Jon Parrish Peede, D.A., and Provost Greg McBrayer, Ph.D., providing their thoughts on hot topics such as artificial intelligence, smartphones, today's political discourse and more.
This year’s summer reading for AU Honors students was "Educated," a 2018 memoir by author Tara Westover that details her survivalist upbringing in Idaho to her pursuit of education at Cambridge University. "Educated" serves as the inspiration for the Honors Program's three-part lecture series, which will also include events on Tuesday, Oct. 21, and Thursday, Nov. 13.
