ASHLAND, Ohio – Kevin Doss, founder and CEO of Aspire Investment Management of Westlake, Ohio, has been named chairman of the Ashland University Board of Trustees. In the fall semester, he and his wife, Tanya, will have two sons who are AU undergraduates.

“I am honored to serve the university in this capacity,” Doss stated. “Ashland offers a unique mix of academic and athletic excellence rooted in moral values and service to others. During this difficult budgetary period in higher education, we are blessed to have five construction projects underway to enhance our living-learning environments, as well as seed investment in academic programs of distinction.”

“We are delighted to have Chairman Doss lead our board for the second time,” AU President Jon Parrish Peede said. “He is pragmatic, experienced and fully committed to providing our students with a rich educational experience. My colleagues and I look forward to working with him and the board to capitalize on AU’s historic investments in student life. I also want to thank Jim Hess, our former chairman, for his dedicated service.”

Chairman Doss will be joined by board secretary Tracy McPherson and assistant secretary Christine Taylor.

The board also welcomed Dylan Clemente, Jerry Gray, Dr. Neil Gupta, Spencer Schar and Evan Weidenhamer as new trustees. Adding to an already geographically diverse body, they represent the states of Florida, Indiana, Ohio and Virginia.

Seven trustees concluded their service this year, including former chairman Jim Hess, former vice chair Joyce Lamb, Mark Camp, Patricia Gravatt, Paul McKnight, Dustin Ness and Rob Ward. The university is grateful for their loyal support and stewardship.

Ashland University is a mid-size, private university conveniently located halfway between Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio.
