ASHLAND, Ohio – A group of students from the Ashland University Sports Management and MBA programs, guided by faculty member Lance Kaltenbaugh, will be traveling west to experience “Sports in California,” a week-long trip studying and visiting multiple sport and hospitality sites, including some of the most famous in the world.

The Sport Management and MBA programs within Ashland’s Dauch College of Business and Economics pride themselves in providing real world, experiential learning opportunities for their students. When the opportunity to experience sports within one of the most exciting areas in the world was presented, Kaltenbaugh, an associate professor of sports management, knew it was a chance that his students could not pass up.

On the schedule of site visits for this year’s group is the Super Bowl Experience at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, plus trips to Pasadena, Hollywood, Anaheim and Santa Monica, Calif. Plans are in place for the group to visit Angel Stadium, Dodgers Stadium, Crypto.com Arena to watch a Los Angeles Clippers game, Warner Bros Studio, Santa Monica Pier and Disneyland. As impressive as those destinations are the highlight of the week may be the opportunity to visit the Rose Bowl, where the group will receive a private tour.

“Only a few schools ever get the chance to play in The Rose Bowl, however Ashland University will get the opportunity to learn at this national historic landmark through a private VIP tour,” Kaltenbaugh noted.

The students include Ryan Cutright, Jessie Mayne, Drew Mills, Justin Moore, Megan Racklyeft, Amanda Stewart and Rongde Wang.
