Building Principal Program Overview
Prepare to lead with confidence and impact—Ashland University’s Principal Licensure Program blends rigorous coursework, real-world internships, and personalized guidance to elevate aspiring leaders into visionary school principals. Ashland University's Building Principal Licensure program builds on coursework completed through typical M.Ed. Educational Administration programs. As such, a number of prerequisites are required for this program, including two years of satisfactory teaching experience at the appropriate grade level. The grade bands available for the principal license are Pre-K-6, 4-9 and 5-12. A maximum of 30 graduate hours are required for this license.
How Do I Know if This Program Is Right for Me?
- You are currently a teacher, but would like to expand your knowledge and skills in the area of educational leadership.
- You would like to pursue a position in building leadership, perhaps as a building principal, assistant principal or athletic director.
- You currently have a master's degree and would like to extend it with this license.
