Graduate Reading Endorsement
The newly redesigned Graduate Reading Endorsement qualifies you to teach students under the provisions of the Ohio Third Year Guarantee. The program is 15 semester hours of graduate coursework which can be directly applied to the M.Ed. in Reading and Literacy. You must have completed 12 hours of undergraduate or graduate literacy coursework, including an approved phonics course, prior to beginning your program.

Pursuing a reading endorsement in Ohio represents a dedicated effort to enhance literacy instruction and promote academic achievement. This endeavor seeks to deepen expertise in reading methodologies, equipping educators with the tools to address the diverse needs of students effectively. This endorsement may open doors to roles such as literacy coach, reading specialist, curriculum developer or educational consultant, offering opportunities to lead initiatives aimed at improving literacy outcomes across various educational settings.
