Community Service & AU G.I.V.S.
The Community Service Office will strive to provide meaningful service opportunities locally, nationally and even globally in an effort to encourage social responsibility, community involvement and thoughtful action.
Reach Beyond Your Boundaries to Help Make a Difference
Through Community Service at Ashland University, you will find many opportunities for reaching beyond your boundaries. From building houses with Habitat for Humanity to making blankets for local children in need, participation in community service gives you the opportunity to have great experiences while making new friends and connecting with others in our local community. We offer volunteer opportunities in the Ashland area, and also throughout our state and nation. We also continue to add opportunities through outside organizations to make sure that you have the best chance possible to participate in whatever program interests you! There are so many opportunities to try something new through our office-we hope that you find something that interests you!
If you would like to receive our weekly newsletter or would like more information on any of our programs, please email email@example.com and ask to be put on our mailing list. Thank you for your interest in volunteerism!
Ashland University Gets Involved with Volunteer Service
Think you have what it takes to make a difference locally, nationally and even globally? We do! Get involved with AU G.I.V.S. – Ashland University’s student-led organization that provides awesome service opportunities throughout the Ashland area and beyond.
Examples of programs include dog walking at the local animal shelter; FEED Ashland – the largest food drive in Ashland County; youth story times; and CROP Walk – a program with local churches to help end hunger. There are also opportunities to connect with folks at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home; build locally and nationally for Habitat for Humanity and so much more!
Martin Luther King Jr. lived to serve others. This great man is the reason that every year, we as students have a day off of school. In remembrance of this great servant leader, make Monday, January 21st a day of service and not just a day off. On January 21st, 2019, AU G.I.V.S. is looking for volunteers to help create pantry staple boxes and deliver them to senior citizens in our community from 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.. Click here to sign-up by Friday, January 11th to recive a FREE MLK Day t-shirt.
Join one or all of the AU G.I.V.S. Service Teams. Teams include: P.A.W. Donations (monetrary or material goods) are a wonderful way to help out people all over the globe! Much of the time organization, departments, or athletic teams are recognized for their community service hours but not the amount of donations they collect or money they raise. We want you to be recognized! Please CLICK HERE to fill out the below form to show your commitment to philanthropy.
