Chosen educators for this year's Summer Math Institute should have received a Welcome Letter and a copy of Math-ish by Stanford Professor Jo Boaler.

A Welcome Packet with the tentative schedule and Campus Maps has been emailed to our finalists for this summer's program. If you were notified that you were accepted to SMI26 but did not receive the Welcome Packet email, please contact Michelle D'Ambrosio.

Campus Housing 

If you indicated that you would like to stay on campus during the week of SMI26, we sent you an email with Campus Housing information. If you did not receive that email, please contact Michelle D'Ambrosio.

If you would like to be considered for future math-focused events, workshops, or conferences, please complete the Summer Math Institute Interest Form linked below. Your responses will help us plan offerings that best support your needs. 

Math Exploration Day

Students in grades 4–8 from across the region will help bring a week of educator learning to life through an exciting morning of hands-on math activities led by educators from throughout Ohio. The event is part of the Summer Math Institute, sponsored by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation.

EVENT DETAILS

Location: Dauch 249, College of Business & Economics (#17 on the Campus Map)

  • Please plan to arrive by 8:50 a.m. for check-in.

  • Parents are welcome to stay and observe; we simply ask that you help maintain a focused learning environment for participants.

  • The students will be ready to be picked up by 11:30 a.m. If you are not planning to stay, we will collect contact information should we need to reach you for any reason. 

  • Light breakfast items and snacks will be provided while your children are with us.

  • Each child will also receive an SMI26 t-shirt and a small gift from the AU Bookstore.
