Ashland University’s athletic facilities form a dynamic backdrop to the life of the Eagles—modern, expansive and built for both performance and community. At the heart of it all is the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex with Ferguson Field, home to men’s and women’s soccer, track & field and lacrosse. In recent seasons it played host to NCAA Division II men’s-soccer regionals and a Great Midwest Athletic Conference outdoor championship.
When it comes to football and large events, the complex centers on Jack Miller Stadium and the Robert Troop Center—features that include a two-story press box, team store and elevated weight-training and study areas overlooking the field.
Indoors, the university offers standout venues like the Niss Athletic Center, an advanced indoor facility featuring an 80-yard artificial turf field and a 300-meter six-lane track, elevating the training and recruiting profile of the athletics program.
Across campus, the variety of athletic venues, from the Tomassi Stadium and Donges Field ball-complex for baseball and softball, to the Deborah Liebert Karl Tennis Complex and Messerly Natatorium for swimming & diving, demonstrate the university’s commitment to a comprehensive athletic infrastructure.
Together, these spaces provide student-athletes and the campus community with places to train, compete and gather, promoting performance, health and spirit in equal measure.
