Ashland University’s student life is rooted in connection, community and a shared sense of purpose. The heart of campus is filled with spaces designed for students to study, relax and build lasting friendships.
Redwood Hall, once the university’s dining hall, remains one of AU’s most iconic spaces. Built from redwood lumber originally used in the construction of the university’s football stadium, the building carries a sense of tradition and history. Today, Redwood Hall is home to weekly events hosted by the Campus Activities Board, offering free entertainment and community gatherings for all students.
The Quad provides a natural gathering space where students can often be found studying in the sun, tossing a frisbee or playing spikeball with friends. Nearby, the Avenue of Eagles—part of a recent campus beautification project—adds scenic walkways, green spaces and monuments that celebrate the university’s legacy and pride.
Eagles Landing serves as a year-round hangout for students, refreshed in summer 2025 with new features including a pool table and a growing collection of board games. The space invites relaxation and connection, whether between classes or on a quiet weekend afternoon.
The Center for CommUNITY & Belonging fosters inclusion and dialogue by providing programming, resources and space for students to engage across cultures and experiences. Likewise, the Rybolt Corridor and Lyceum Café offer vibrant, welcoming places for conversation, coffee and collaboration.
Study areas are available across campus to fit every learning style. In the Student Center, students can find the Commuter Lounge, Common Ground Study Lounge and Piano Lounge, each offering comfortable, quiet spaces for studying, group projects or simply recharging between classes.
Together, these spaces form the heartbeat of student life at Ashland University—where tradition meets innovation, and every student finds a place to belong.
