Campus Emergency Notification System

CampusShield is available for Ashland University students, faculty, staff and parents.

Alerts are sent out only during emergency situations and cancellations/closings related to Ashland University. The university will test the notification system once every semester to ensure that it is working as intended. A campuswide email will be sent out prior to the test so that students, faculty and staff will know when to expect it.

Ashland University will send out alerts via email and/or text message (if you have registered a cellular phone number).

You can submit information on emergency situations by clicking the “Emergency” button in the app. After pressing this button, your phone will call Safety Services and they will receive your location. They will determine the intensity of the emergency with the help of the Public Relations Office and determine appropriate action as needed.

CampusWatch is a free smartphone app, so you will need a smartphone with app-downloading and text messaging capabilities. Individual cell phone plans and text messaging rates will apply.

You can start the registration process one of two ways: 

• Visit the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and download the CampusShield mobile app. Choose “Ashland University” as your school, then select which campus you are attending. Next, create your profile with your personal information and add your emergency contact information.

Sign up for emergency notifications through the internet web portal. After selecting “Ashland University” as your school, selecting your campus and creating your profile, you will be prompted to download the app and sign in to your account.

If you have issues with registration, please send an email to support@911cellular.com with the following information: 

• Your name.
• Your mobile phone number.
• The name of your cell phone plan provider.

Indicate that you want to register in the Ashland University Emergency Contact System. Wait for a response and follow the instructions provided.

You can unsubscribe from emergency notifications at any time by logging into the internet web portal and clicking the “unsubscribe” button. You can also unsubscribe by replying to any text alert with a message that says “STOP” or by selecting “Unsubscribe to this message” within email alerts.
