Our Mission
We seek to ensure that the AU educational experience is inclusive of people of all religions, races, ethnicities, genders, ages and sexual orientations, as well as people with disabilities. To achieve our mission, we promote and advocate for marginalized populations, both on campus and in surrounding communities. We work with AU constituents to help ensure that all students receive not only a quality education, but also a diverse and multicultural one. We also devote special attention to recruiting and retaining students of color.
DEI Student Organizations
American Sign Language (ASL) Club
ASL is designed to assist anyone in communicating with individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or who have cognitive disabilities. Our goal is to educate AU students about the importance of Deaf culture and ASL. We hope to increase people’s awareness of the diversity that exists on the AU campus, to improve the lives of people who rely upon ASL to communicate and to foster in students a spirit of advocacy for and appreciation of ASL and Deaf culture.

Black Student Alliance
We promote diversity and encourage leadership. We also seek equal justice for and offer assistance to those in need, as well as providing activities that strengthen the bonds among students in the Black community.

Delight Ministries
We invite college women into our Christ-centered community. It’s a place where they can be vulnerable and make themselves known without fear of being judged or excluded, and where they can transform their stories.

Diversity on Campus
Our objective is to bring together AU students to explore the different backgrounds, beliefs and characteristics of the student body through educational and social programs.

Eagles for Pride
We work toward making AU a safer and more inclusive environment for all students, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We seek to accomplish this through education, support and community. In doing so, we hope to preserve and promote human dignity and respect for all people.

International Club
Our purpose is to meet the social needs of students — both foreign and domestic — who are interested in international affairs. We provide programs that will increase awareness of and appreciation for world cultures on campus and within the surrounding communities. We also give international students more opportunities to engage in activities.

The Melting Pot
Our mission is to unite every race, culture and ethnicity under the name of Jesus Christ and to ensure that all people feel welcome and loved. Members receive relatable and applicable steps for their daily walk with Christ. A bible study and a worship experience take place on the second and fourth Monday of each month.

UNIDAD
We are dedicated to creating, fostering and broadening awareness of the Hispanic/Latin community at AU.
Women of Excellence
We work to empower, educate and embrace the women of AU through fellowship and programs. We engage in issues that affect women locally, nationally and globally.
