Godspell
The Ashland University Department of Theatre will present “Godspell,” the popular 1971 musical based on the Gospel of Matthew, from Thursday, March 26, through Sunday, March 29, in the Hugo Young Theatre at the Center for the Arts. The Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday’s matinee is at 2 p.m.
“Godspell,” with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by John-Michael Tebelak, takes a joyful and lighthearted approach to well-known parables, inviting the audience to reflect on themes of kindness, forgiveness and community. This production is being directed by Teresa Durbin-Ames, associate professor of theatre, with music direction by Deborah Logan and choreography by Brittany Wentworth.
