Who can signup for Ashland University the Emergency Contact System?
The service is available for Ashland University students, faculty, staff and parents.
Will my cell phone number/email address be kept confidential?
Yes your cell phone numbers are not shared or sold to any other systems or services.
When will I receive alerts from this service?
Alerts are sent out only during Emergency Situations, Severe Weather Advisories, School Closings, and Major Event Cancellations. The University will send a test of the notification system once a semester to ensure that the system is working. An all-campus email will be sent out prior to the test so students, faculty and staff will know when to expect it.
What other methods will the University take to communicate to campus during an emergency
The Emergency Contact System will be used every time there is an emergency on campus. In addition, during regular business hours, an all-campus email will be sent out to alert the campus community of an emergency.
What do I need to and how much does it cost?
You need a cell phone with text messaging capabilities and there is no charge to users for signing up. Individual cell phone plans will apply normal charges for the text message. What if I am not able to register?
First test your cell phone to ensure you can receive text messages. Then login above ("Already have an account?" login form) to see if your registration was started and not completed. If you continue to have problems please contact the IT helpdesk at ext. 5405 or firstname.lastname@example.org or email your mobile phone number and the name of your provider to support@e2Campus.com and indicate you want to register in the Ashland University Emergency Contact System.
What if I do not receive/enter the 4-digit validation code?
If you do not enter the 4-digit validation code, an account is created but you will not receive alerts. To receive alerts, you must login and re-validate your phone. If you do not receive the code, please contact support (see previous question).
How can I unsubscribe from this service?
You can unsubscribe at any time just login above ("Already have an account?" login form) and follow the instructions
Do I need to register my Ashland University Email account?
There is no reason to register your University email account unless you wish to receive email alerts during non-business hours. In the event of an emergency during business hours, an all-campus email will be sent out in addition to the Emergency Notification System.
What procedure would I follow to submit a message to be sent through the Emergency Contact System?
The level of an emergency is determined by the Public Relations and Safety Services offices. In the event of an emergency, please contact safety services at ext. 5555 (24 hrs/day) and the staff there will determine the appropriate actions.
