Explore the Center for the Arts
Ashland University’s Center for the Arts offers a variety of spaces designed to foster creativity, collaboration and professional preparation. It is home to the Coburn Art Gallery, where students and visiting artists display exhibitions in a bright, modern setting. Adjacent art studios provide well-equipped spaces for painting, sculpture, ceramics and other hands-on creative work, allowing students to explore their craft in a professional environment.
The Hugo Young Theatre gives students the opportunity to stage full-scale theatrical productions, with a fully equipped stage, lighting and sound systems. Music students perform in the recital hall, a space designed for both acoustics and audience engagement, offering a venue for solo, ensemble and guest performances. Communications students gain real-world experience through the university’s broadcast studio (AUTV) and the campus radio station (WRDL) where they produce, edit and deliver live and recorded programming.
Across these spaces, students collaborate, experiment and showcase their talents in environments built to support both academic study and career readiness. From visual arts and music to theatre and media, the Center for the Arts provides a dynamic, hands-on learning environment where creativity and scholarship come together.
