Ashland University’s College of Nursing & Health Sciences provides students with modern, hands-on learning environments designed to replicate real-world healthcare settings. The Dwight Schar College of Nursing building features a range of advanced simulation labs, including the Health Foundations Lab, Adult Health Lab, Complex Health Lab, OB Lab, Pediatric Lab, Community Health Lab, Intensive Care/Advanced Care Lab and fully equipped examination rooms. These spaces allow students to practice clinical skills, patient care and emergency procedures in a controlled, realistic setting.
The Arthur L. and Maxine Sheets Rybolt Health Sciences and Recreation Center complements the nursing facilities with multimedia classrooms, a 4,000-square-foot athletic training room and a 1,600-square-foot human performance laboratory. Students in allied health programs benefit from these specialized labs and classrooms as they gain hands-on experience, conduct research and develop professional competencies under the guidance of faculty. The cadaver lab in Jacobs Hall further enhances anatomy learning, and the Archer Dietetics Foods Lab, located in the lower level of the John C. Myers Convocation Center, provides a state-of-the-art space for dietetics students to engage in food science, culinary demonstrations and nutrition instruction.
