College Credit Plus - Next Steps

AFTER completing the Orientation Module and submitting the Enrollment Survey at the end of the module:

• We will notify you via email when your AU account is ready for activation.
• If you do not receive the notice within a week, first check your spam folder, then contact us, collegecreditplus@ashland.edu.
• All students must activate their AU email, including those who take courses at their high school.
• Once you have been cleared by the CCP office to activate your account, follow these directions.
• Activate your AU account immediately and regularly monitor your inbox. If you delay activation, you risk missing important messages and may not be able to participate in CCP.
• From this point forward you will be expected to use your AU email account for all correspondence with staff and faculty. You may not receive a response if you use a different account.
• If you have difficulty setting up your account or have technical issues, call IT at 419-289-5405 for assistance. Be prepared to identify yourself with your AU ID number (see the instruction sheet in the bullet point above to find your student ID number).

If you are comfortable searching for main campus and online courses on your own based on the information you learned in the Orientation Module, you are permitted to submit your registration requests when registration opens.

• The form will only be open during active registration windows and you must have activated your AU account to submit the form.
  • Fall registration - April 15th to July 15th
  • Spring registration - Nov. 15th to Dec. 10th
  • Contact us if you are interested in summer courses.
  • If you miss a registration window, registration will be dependent upon course availability and the volume of late requests we receive. Please contact us via email, collegecreditplus@ashland.edu.

If you would like assistance searching and selecting courses, please sign up for an Advising Workshop at ashland.edu/ccp-advising.

• Workshops are held annually in April and May. (If you are joining us mid-year for a spring semester start, please contact the CCP Office to schedule an in-person or virtual meeting with one of the advisors.)
• You are welcome to bring your laptop to the workshop to practice searching for courses in the catalog, but it is not required.
• Parents are welcome to attend.
• Pick up your AU lanyard, ID holder, and laptop sticker when you attend an in-person session!

You are permitted to take classes on the AU main campus, online, and at your high school (if your school offers AU courses "in house").

IMPORTANT!

• You can only be registered by an AU CCP advisor.
• You cannot register yourself. You will see menu items and buttons for registration at the Self Service site; however, they have been disabled for CCP students. Any registration buttons you click there will result in NO ACTION and the CCP office will not be notified!
• Instead, you will submit your choices using this form, ashland.edu/ccp-registration.
• IMMEDIATELY after you are registered, you should ALWAYS verify the accuracy of your schedule, by viewing it in Self Service (in the Student Planning section). Contact the CCP office right away if you need to make a schedule change.

You must be able to satisfy all placement and prerequisite requirements:

• MATH 108 - 18 math ACT, 480 SAT, or Accuplacer QAS 263 (AAF scores not accepted)
• ENG 101 - 18 English ACT, 470 SAT, 263 Accuplacer Writing, or HS GPA > 3.0 and HS sophomore.
• Foreign Language - Take the WebCape placement assessment. See the Languages and Literatures Department for instructions.

Important notes regarding AU classes taught in a HS classroom:

• Your registration with AU is not complete until it is processed by the AU CCP office and entered in AU’s system.
• Your HS counselor can only reserve a physical space for you in their classroom; they cannot register you for college credit.
• YOU are responsible for knowing and completing AU’s requirements (not your school counselor) before the appropriate deadlines, just as you would if you were attending class on campus or online.
• Students are not registered for courses offered at a high school until July or August; therefore, you will not see them on your schedule until that time.

Campus Quest is a fun, interactive event to discover AU services available to you.

While this event is optional, it is strongly recommended for your success.

• Campus Quest is held annually each June, with several dates to choose from. RSVP at ashland.edu/campus-quest.
• Meet the CCP Staff who will supply you with a map of campus to start you on your Quest.
• Journey across Ashland University's Campus and learn about all the different services available to you as an AU CCP Student.
• Have your map punched at each stop after gathering important information.
• Return to the CCP office with your Quest completed to pick up your Welcome Gift (Engraved Hydro Flask bottle and Exclusive Event T-shirt)! Sorry, we are unable to ship welcome gifts to students who do not attend in person.

Complete the Blackboard Ultra tutorial before your first semester begins to learn how to successfully navigate and use the Blackboard Ultra learning management system. Go to the link to the training and click the self-enroll (Submit) button. (You will need to log in to Blackboard.) After doing so, you will be placed in the course and able to access the content in the Courses section.

Remember that Blackboard is where you will access your courses (but not until the start of the course), while Self Service is where you can view your schedule.See Step #3 above for directions on viewing your schedule.

Your EagleCard gets you into Ashland University events as well as certain secured areas. It also allows you to access a wide array of goods and services by functioning as your:

• Library card
• Ticket to home athletic events
• Dining card - Add "Eagle Dollars" to your card for use at campus dining locations​
• Rec Center access (see info below)
• Printing at campus copier locations
• Participation in campus groups and organizations​ - Visit Engage Ashland
• Discounts at local merchants​

​We encourage all students to obtain their EagleCard, even if they won't be on campus regularly. Your card can be mailed to you if you live a significant distance from AU.

1. You must be registered for classes to obtain your EagleCard.
2. Upload your photo at Transact Campus, being certain to enter your activated AU email address, not your personal address. Watch for an invitation from the Eagle Card Office and follow their directions.
3. Learn more about your EagleCard.

Enjoy Free Rec Center Access with the CCP Membership!
Submit a CCP Membership Application to the Recreation & Wellness Office each semester.

CCP Rec Center Membership Application

Students must be at least 16 years of age to utilize the CCP Membership and must have a liability form signed by their legal parent/guardian if under the age of 18. CCP students under the age of 16 and interested in using the Recreation Center may have their parent/guardian contact the Department of Recreation & Wellness at recwell@ashland.edu.

All students attending classes and parking on campus must have a parking permit.​

Parking permits are FREE to CCP students. ​

You must be a registered student to obtain your parking permit.

Submit the online form at least 24 hours prior to picking up your parking permit:

1. Log in to the MyAU Portal, ashlanduniversity.sharepoint.com.​
2. Under "Additional resources" on the right, click on Forms Etrieve...​
3. Find the Student Parking Registration form.​
4. Select CCP and Commuter in the appropriate fields.​
5. Enter your vehicle information.​
6. Sign, date and submit the form.​

Go to the Safety Services walk-up window on the first floor of Conard-Hawkins Student Center to pick up your parking permit.

You will need your STUDENT ID NUMBER to submit a textbook reservation.
You can find your ID# in your CCP application. (See Step 1)

If you visit the bookstore website during August and nothing is listed for your course, do not assume there is nothing to order unless the website specifically states a book is not required for your course. Even though it seems like the start of the semester is just around the corner, many professors will submit their textbook selections to the bookstore after August 1. Wait just a bit, then recheck the website. If nothing is listed, please contact the bookstore directly at books@ashland.edu.
